A new partnership will allow Maryland residents to sign up for TSA PreCheck at their local Motor Vehicle Administration offices.
MorphoTrust and the Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration (MDOT MVA) have announced that IdentoGO services have come to MVA offices in Annapolis, Waldorf, and Salisbury, and that such services will arrive to Frederick, Gaithersburg, and Glen Burnie by the end of this year.
In a statement announcing the developments, the organizations noted that IdentoGO offers the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), which is needed for individuals hired to work on maritime ships and stations; Annapolis is the home of the United States Naval Academy. But they also emphasized another service pertaining to a potentially wider swath of the population: TSA PreCheck enrollment, which allows citizens to register biographic and biometric information in order to receive expedited security screening at participating airports.
TSA PreCheck enrollment recently reached the five-million mark, and with administrators planning to expand its biometric capabilities, and continuing to open new enrollment locations, it’s fair to expect considerably more growth to come.
