Trustmatic has launched a new Cloud ABIS solution that will help enterprises purge fraudsters from their customer rosters. The Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) offers one-to-many matching capabilities, and allows enterprises to cross-reference the faces of new users with the faces in an existing database.
In that regard, Trustmatic believes that its solution can help enterprises make better use of customer data that was collected before modern Know Your Customer procedures were adopted. When a new customer submits a photo during onboarding, the business can check to make sure that there are no duplicates with their current records, and determine if the individual in the photo has been placed on a watchlist or associated with fraud in the past. Trustmatic’s Cloud ABIS can also identify customer photos that display signs of spoofing.
According to Trustmatic, the Cloud ABIS’ deduplication capabilities distinguish it from remote onboarding alternatives that only compare a selfie to a photo ID, without matching it against a larger database. The company has already helped clean up one client list after carrying out a pilot deployment for an unnamed company in Latin America .
“Working with our customer, the first thing we did was audit their existing face database of approximately one million users,” explained Trustmatic CEO Donal Greene. “We found that one percent of their existing users were either duplicates or had enrolled using a face presentation attack. Within a week, we were able to produce a report and our customer deactivated the accounts of these users.”
Trustmatic is now offering to conduct free database audits to promote the official launch of the Cloud ABIS. Clients that want to proceed after their audits are complete can integrate the Cloud ABIS into their own applications through the use of a REST API. In the meantime, Trustmatic has predicted that customers will start to move away from passwords in 2022.
