Trust Stamp Seeks to Avoid Supervision Stigma With Location-Tracking Wearable

Trust Stamp has announced the debut of its Tap-In Band. Designed as a wrist-worn device, the band is aimed at supporting community-based supervision programs by facilitating unobtrusive user check-ins and communication.

The Tap-In Band distinguishes itself by capitalizing on the GPS and NFC functionalities inherent in a user’s mobile phone. With a tap to their device, users can access a dedicated web portal, enabling messaging and two-way audio-visual interactions. An added layer of security is offered by the band’s ability to complement facial biometric authentication via the phone’s camera, a feature for which Trust Stamp has obtained a provisional patent from the US Patent and Trademark Office.

A notable characteristic of the Tap-In Band is its absence of a battery, a departure from conventional wrist-worn devices. This design choice eliminates concerns surrounding battery longevity and the frequent need for charging. Additionally, the band intentionally forgoes embedded GPS tracking capabilities, addressing potential user reservations about overt monitoring.

Any attempt to remove the band triggers a permanent tampering alert, further solidifying its security profile. In terms of biometric authentication, Trust Stamp employs its patented IT2 identity tokenization process, negating the necessity of storing explicit biometric images or templates.
