Trusona has updated its enterprise security platform to support Windows 10 devices. The upgrade will allow large organizations to implement passwordless authentication protocols on any Windows 10 tablet, laptop, or desktop computer that communicates with an on-premises Active Directory during the authentication process.
According to Trusona, enterprises that adopt the improved solution will not need to make any additional hardware or software purchases. Trusona can instead be integrated with the organization’s existing technology, including cameras and other biometric readers. The system also has anti-replay technology to prevent credential replay attacks.
The update is intended to help support companies that have had to transition to a remote ecosystem during the COVID-19 pandemic. The solution will allow those organizations to provide their employees with secure and convenient access to sensitive corporate materials. Trusona notes that employees can self-register with the system, which reduces the burden on IT departments that will no longer have to deal with locked accounts and password reset requests.
“Passwordless authentication is an effective way for our organization to enhance security across a remote workforce while at the same time removing user friction during sign-in,” said Harrison Manufacturing Senior IT Manager Robert Devitt. “The quick setup and configuration, simple employee self-enrollment and the time and cost savings has been invaluable as we successfully navigate evolving times.”
Trusona asked some of the world’s leading white hat hackers and cybersecurity experts to evaluate its technology, and indicated that the security platform held up against a battery of attacks that included reverse engineering, injection, and memory techniques. The platform can enable a Single Sign-On utility for other enterprise applications.
The news comes a few short months after Trusona added a Time-based One-time Password feature to its authentication portfolio. The feature enables two-factor authentication, and is free for non-enterprise customers who access it through the Trusona App.
