The Holland Casino group is teaming up with TruNarrative as it looks to take its gaming operations online. To that end, TruNarrative will provide the group with the secure onboarding technology it needs to fulfill its Know Your Customer and Anti-Money Laundering obligations.
The group itself is a state-owned gaming operation that runs 14 brick-and-mortar gaming establishments in the Netherlands. It has applied for an online gaming license under new guidelines laid out by the KSA (Kansspelautoriteit), which is the official regulatory body for the country’s gaming industry.
For its part, TruNarrative will help with customer onboarding, identity verification, and risk screening. The company’s platform uses face and document recognition to match a user to their identity document, and then checks various external sources to make sure that that person can afford to play, and does not have a history of problem gambling. TruNarrative also provides ongoing transaction monitoring to evaluate the risk level of subsequent interactions.
The financial background checks are required under the KSA guidelines. In addition to enabling online gaming, the Holland Casino group will use TruNarrative’s technology to streamline its onboarding procedures at its physical locations.
“Holland Casino will raise the bar high when it comes to compliance and taking care of our online guests,” said Holland Casino Digital Transformation Director Jeroen Verkroost. “We have chosen TruNarrative’s technology to help us ensure that people can use our new platform in a safe, reliable and responsible way.”
“We look forward to working with Holland casino so they can protect their players both online and in their land-based operations,” added TruNarrative Head of Gaming Adam Doyle. “It’s great to be helping them align with the latest Netherlands regulations so they can bring their online instance to market.”
TruNarrative has previously provided similar onboarding and screening services for The Tote, which is based in the UK. In that regard, the KSA’s affordability guidelines are comparable to those of the UK Gambling Commission. Ikano Bank, Juni, and the Equals Group are some of TruNarrative’s recent clients in the financial sector.
