Trulioo has a new Chief Product Officer with considerable industry experience.
Michael Ramsbacker comes to the company from Epsilon, a marketing specialist, where he oversaw the development and launch of services for the automotive sector, in the role of VP of Product Management. More importantly, with respect to the identity industry in which Trulioo operates, Ramsbacker previously served as the VP of Product Management for Mitek Systems, another specialist in remote onboarding.
In its announcement of Ramsbacker’s appointment, Trulioo highlighted his experience from Mitek, where he drove the strategic roadmap for the company’s digital identity offerings, including those based on biometric authentication and document verification. Ramsbacker “rebuilt the product management organization and instituted model processes for customer risk management compliance” during his time with Mitek, the company explained.
At Mitek, Ramsbacker will be tasked with the development of streamlined workflow systems aimed at maximizing verification rates for end users while optimizing the user experience. Intriguingly, he will also be asked to plan for “the development of security features that factor in different biometric modalities and fraud signals”, according to Trulioo’s announcement. That suggests the company is considering expanding its anti-fraud platform beyond the selfie-based approach to identity verification on which it has focused.
Commenting on the appointment, Trulioo CEO Steve Munford asserted that Ramsbacker’s “immense product management acumen and industry experience in successfully deploying solutions globally will help catalyze the Trulioo product roadmap and ensure we continue meeting the diverse needs of our global customer base.”
Ramsbacker’s appointment as Chief Product Officer – a newly created role at the company – comes after Trulioo named Shradha Mittal as its new Senior Vice President of People & Culture toward the end of last year, reflecting the broader, significant growth of Trulioo’s workforce over the past year.
“The team at Trulioo is collectively working towards the goal of ensuring nobody is left behind in the digital economy, and I’m thrilled to be a part of this mission,” commented Ramsbacker.
