Trulioo Launches Credit Decisioning to Augment KYB with Risk Intelligence

Global identity platform Trulioo has launched Trulioo Credit Decisioning, a major new capability that integrates financial, credit, and risk insights directly into its Know Your Business (KYB) verification workflow. This move aims to provide enterprises with a single, unified platform to not only verify a business’s identity but also instantly assess its financial stability and risk profile.

The launch is a direct response to a 102 percent year-over-year increase in U.S. KYB transaction growth on Trulioo’s platform, signaling a massive demand for more streamlined and secure business onboarding.

“We continue to push the boundaries of innovation, building the most sophisticated engine for onboarding businesses, understanding their risk profiles and driving faster, more confident growth,” said Zac Cohen, Trulioo Chief Product Officer, in a statement. “With credit decisioning, we’re uniting identity, fraud and credit intelligence to redefine what streamlined, trusted onboarding looks like on a global scale.”

Real-time risk assessment: The new feature layers real-time credit and financial data into the verification process. This allows organizations to use automated decision trees based on pre-defined credit rules, flag high-risk entities earlier, and gain predictive insights into a business’s cash-flow stability and insolvency probability. This integration of identity verification with real-time risk assessment is designed to accelerate revenue by enabling faster, more confident approvals for low-risk businesses while improving fraud prevention.

This announcement coincides with a new, industry-first Credit Washing Solution launched by TransUnion, a key player in the credit data ecosystem. TransUnion’s tool is designed to combat the growing fraud trend where consumers or credit repair services illegitimately remove accurate, derogatory data from credit profiles to artificially inflate credit scores. The dual announcements from Trulioo and TransUnion highlight a significant industry trend toward integrating deeper, more analytical risk intelligence to combat sophisticated financial fraud.

The expansion positions Trulioo, which achieved unicorn status in 2021, to compete more effectively in the growing KYB market alongside competitors like Socure, which recently launched its RiskOS platform for unified risk decisioning. With its global reach spanning 195 countries, Trulioo is well-positioned to serve enterprises seeking consolidated identity and credit intelligence platforms.
