Trulioo has revealed that new capabilities in Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO) entity resolution drove 51 percent year-over-year growth in Asia-Pacific business verification volume in 2025, with the gains concentrated in markets where corporate registry data is fragmented or unreliable. UBO discovery has emerged as one of the more operationally painful parts of business verification, with compliance teams historically stitching together registry lookups, sanctions screening, and manual document review across jurisdictions where corporate ownership data is fragmented or lightly disclosed.
The growth is attributed to a next-generation AI-governed UBO discovery engine that combines global data sources to resolve incomplete or inconsistent ownership information. Traditional Know Your Business (KYB) tools cannot reliably unmask beneficial ownership structures in high-growth APAC markets, the company states, because of structural gaps in local corporate registry data, particularly across small and medium-sized enterprises in countries such as Vietnam and the Philippines.
Trulioo reported specific coverage improvements across three markets. UBO coverage reached up to 98 percent in Vietnam. In the Philippines, coverage reached 70 percent, a 69 percentage-point improvement. In Singapore, coverage reached 81 percent, a 24 percentage-point increase. Across all tested APAC markets, overall coverage reached 85 percent. One unnamed customer, described as among the world’s largest social media platforms operating in APAC, achieved a 40 percent improvement in UBO coverage after adopting the engine.
Zac Cohen, Chief Product Officer at Trulioo, said the challenge in APAC is understanding who ultimately owns and controls businesses, not simply verifying that they exist. Cohen said the company built a fundamentally different approach to the problem for APAC customers, resulting in higher onboarding acceptance rates, reduced manual review, and greater confidence when scaling into new markets.
The UBO announcement builds on Trulioo’s continuous KYB risk intelligence platform update from October 2025, which added ongoing business monitoring and AI-powered digital presence analysis. It follows Trulioo’s credit decisioning addition to its KYB platform in November 2025, forming a sequence of intelligence-layer expansions. The APAC growth milestone is among the first major product announcements since Trulioo’s appointment of Vicky Bindra as CEO in April 2025, as the former Visa and Mastercard executive repositions the company around high-growth markets.
Trulioo is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, and serves enterprise clients across financial services, fintech, e-commerce, and gig economy platforms. The 51 percent figure represents growth in verification volume, not revenue.
