Transmit Security is bringing on a new Chief Marketing Officer. Chris Pick joins the company following a stint at Tanium, where he held the same position.
As CMO, Pick will be asked to develop and run a new international marketing strategy to further the company’s growth efforts all over the world. He will be expected to help define a new cybersecurity category for Transmit Security as part of that process. In that regard, Transmit noted that Pick accomplished similar feats at Tanium and Apptio, where he served as Chief Marketing Officer for nine years before moving on to Tanium. At Apptio, Pick redefined the Technology Business Management category, and made Apptio a leader in that field.
Transmit itself is anticipating a period of significant growth. The company brought in $543 million in a record Series A funding round in June, and is now providing identity coverage for 115 million people in sectors like finance and retail. Transmit holds multiple patents for its biometric authentication technology.
“This year we are making very significant moves as a company, because we are disrupting the status quo that has dominated a critical area of technology for decades,” said Transmit President and Co-Founder Rakesh Loonkar. “Chris has differentiated experience tackling huge, intractable problems in technology, and his marketing strategies are innovative and impactful to large enterprises.”
“Passwords are the weakest link in online services,” added Pick. “It’s time we move the entire industry past the password problem, and I joined Transmit Security because it has the team, vision and vast resources to do so.”
The announcement comes only a month after Transmit brought on Chris Kaddaras as its new Chief Revenue Officer. Transmit has previously reported that customers will abandon sites if the login process takes too long, and it has released a passwordless BindID solution to help solve that problem. BindID offers support for face and fingerprint recognition.
