Tower Capital Asia Takes Majority Stake in V-Key to Scale Digital Identity and Mobile App Security

Tower Capital Asia (TCA) has made a strategic majority investment in Singapore-based V-Key, backing the company’s digital identity and Mobile Application Protection and Security (MAPS) offerings for expansion across the Asia-Pacific region. The investment is intended to accelerate product development and strengthen V-Key’s presence among financial institutions and other regulated digital service providers.

V-Key focuses on digital identity, authentication, and mobile application security. The company’s platform includes its patented V-OS Virtual Secure Element and V-OS App Identity technologies, which are designed to embed secure element-style protections and identity assurance directly within mobile applications. V-Key reports that its V-OS technology has been deployed on more than 500 million mobile devices globally.

The transaction reflects the growing convergence of digital identity and mobile application security in regulated onboarding and transaction workflows. As financial institutions and digital platforms tighten fraud controls and compliance requirements, identity verification, authentication, and app-level protection are increasingly treated as interconnected controls rather than separate layers, mirroring a broader security posture that treats identity, encryption, authentication, and infrastructure as a continuous chain.

Tower Capital Asia links the investment to rising demand for secure digital identity infrastructure and mobile-first security architectures. Danny Koh, founder and chief executive officer of Tower Capital Asia, said secure digital identity has become foundational to digital services as organizations contend with fraud pressure and regulatory expectations.

V-Key’s leadership pointed to the investor’s regional network and long-term orientation as factors in the transaction. Eddie Chau, co-founder and chairman of V-Key, described the partnership as aligned with the company’s Asia-focused growth strategy. Joseph Gan, co-founder and chief executive officer of V-Key, said the company plans to further invest in unified digital identity and mobile application security capabilities, where buyers increasingly evaluate privacy and compliance controls alongside deployment viability in mobile channels, including secure storage and passwordless authentication models.

The investment is structured as a majority stake, though financial terms were not disclosed. The deal adds to ongoing investment activity targeting identity and mobile security vendors serving regulated sectors across the Asia-Pacific market, where mobile channels remain central to onboarding, authentication, and transaction security, and where regional vendors continue to expand partnerships aimed at strengthening digital identity verification and fraud prevention.
