Toshiba has announced two new notebooks that both take advantage of biometric authentication.
Called the Portégé X30 and Tecra X40, they’re thin and lightweight notebooks featuring 7th Generation Intel Core processors. While they sport some high-performance specifications, they’re also notable for their use of biometric security, with both devices featuring touchpads with embedded fingerprint scanners, and the capability to perform facial recognition for authentication.
The biometric authentication is supported by Synaptics’ Natural ID fingerprint sensors and Windows Hello, the security platform of the devices’ Windows 10 operating system. Toshiba says the devices will hit the market by the second quarter of the year.
