Thales has released a statement that details its response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The company indicated that it is following the recommendations of public healthcare authorities, and is directing its employees to work from home whenever possible. It is also adhering to any local directives issued by the governments in its various areas of operation. Thales currently has 83,000 employees spread across 68 different countries.
In the meantime, Thales confirmed that it is trying to maintain regular business continuity while trying to slow the spread of the coronavirus. The company noted that it provides key infrastructure and support for many civil and military organizations, and a service disruption could hinder their efforts to respond to the pandemic. Thales is therefore trying to ensure that that those organizations have everything they need to carry out their mission.
Thales is one of the many companies that has instructed its employees to work from home during the pandemic. Zwipe and NEC America have implemented similar policies and are limiting business travel. Meanwhile, Paychex is providing payroll and HR support for American companies scrambling to respond to the outbreak. Ericsson will also be encouraging remote participation for shareholders during its upcoming Annual General Meeting.
