Identity management solutions provider Telos ID has announced that its MobileAssure Fingerprint Web Capture and MobileAssure Universal Enrollment software has received FBI certification. These biometric credentialing solutions are now compliant with the Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Justice Information Services Division’s Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) Image Quality Specifications Appendix F.
Given its utility in their line of work, government security agencies have long been interested biometric technology, and US government agencies are no exception. Biometrics developers keen to produce technology suited to the FBI’s standards in order to win contracts; toward the end of last year, for example, we saw companies like GenKey and Suprema getting certified for their offerings.
For its part, Telos seems to cater most of its services to government applications, having provided identity management solutions to the US Department of Homeland Security, the US Department of Defense, and other such organizations. It’s also a TSA-certified Designated Aviation Channeler, allowing it to assist with background checks in the field of aviation.
