“In a statement, the company explained that its DAC services allow for the submission of workers’ biographic and biometric information for background checks…”
Telos ID has been contracted to assist with TSA-approved background checks for workers at the Los Angeles International Airport.
More specifically, the company has announced that it is providing “Designated Aviation Channeling” (DAC) services for Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) the airport operator. In a statement, the company explained that its DAC services allow for the submission of workers’ biographic and biometric information for background checks, and it asserted that it has already conducted on-site training for both DAC and Rap Back, the FBI’s biometric background check program.
Elaborating on the LAX project, Telos ID VP of aviation security Dawn Lucini emphasized its scale. “With more than 54 thousand badge holders, we have streamlined the worker background check process, while upholding the high security standards at LAX in an effective and efficient manner,” she asserted.
It’s the latest sign of the increasingly sophisticated security in place at LAX, especially with respect to biometrics. The airport has also been host to an expanding biometric passenger screening program, a collaboration between the US Customs and Border Protection agency and private sector partners like Vision-Box, British Airlines, and Lufthansa, which announced it had joined the project this month.
