TECH5 said it has secured a multi-million euro, non-dilutive growth loan from Salica Investments to expand its market presence and accelerate growth in biometrics and digital identity solutions. The company framed the financing as growth capital intended to support scale-up activities in new geographies.
Salica Investments, a private markets investor active across equity and debt, is providing the funding through a growth loan rather than an equity round. TECH5 said the financing gives it capital without diluting ownership while it pursues expansion. Salica partner Ross Goodwin said the firm is backing TECH5 as it enters its next phase of growth.
The company described the loan as non-dilutive growth debt, a structure that provides expansion capital without issuing equity. TECH5 said the financing supports its efforts to scale its biometric and digital identity platform across multiple markets.
Chief executive Machiel van der Harst said the investment adds momentum for expansion into new markets with the company’s digital public infrastructure and multi-biometric offerings. The company positions its core stack as a foundation for national and enterprise identity programs that need enrollment, verification, and biometric matching capabilities.
TECH5’s DPI platform, T5-OmniTrust, has been implemented in Honduras, Papua New Guinea, and Ethiopia in 2025. It is designed to support foundational identity systems and authentication for telecom and banking services, with pilots in other markets. The company said those deployments demonstrate the platform at national scale.
“With a financial institution like Salica as an investor, TECH5 gains additional momentum to accelerate its expansion into new geographies with our DPI and multi-biometric solutions,” said van der Harst. “We firmly believe that our success in the DPI space last year marks only the beginning of a much longer list of countries seeking to transform how they manage identity and payments and build a more inclusive digital world.”
TECH5 said the financing proceeds will be used to extend its market footprint and accelerate growth in biometric and digital identity solutions. The company’s stated focus remains on high-assurance identity and authentication workflows tied to public infrastructure and regulated industries.
With the loan in place, TECH5 said it plans to continue deployments and expansion of its DPI and biometric offerings while maintaining a non-dilutive approach to growth capital. The company said the funding will support additional national-scale and enterprise identity programs that rely on its biometric stack.
