TECH5 is ID2020’s Newest Partner

TECH5 has become the latest private sector partner of ID2020, the global cross-industry alliance aimed at promoting the ethical use of digital identity solutions. As an ID2020 member, TECH5 will lend its biometrics and digital identity expertise to the alliance’s various advisory committees and working groups, and generally contribute to its overarching mission.

The partnership will see Rob Haslam, TECH5’s strategic advisor for its T5-Mobile ID solution, become an official contributor to ID2020’s Global Health Pass Collaborative. Launched in February, the Collaborative is aimed specifically at developing guidelines for health screening systems that can be used to help revive the travel industry in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Haslam will also be a contributor to ID2020’s Advocacy Advisory Committee, a broader effort to establish best practices for the deployment of health passes.

“I am honored to participate in GHPC to share my expertise and contribute to such a unique initiative, helping to address a critical need to standardize how an individual can safely, privately, and appropriately share their COVID-19 status information, using digital solutions,” said Haslam.

TECH5’s ID2020 partnership comes in the same week as the news that Singapore-based Yinda Infocomm had committing to a new investment of $8 million in the biometrics specialist. Yinda had previously invested $2.5 million in TECH5 in the beginning of the year, with the massive new investment and the ID2020 partnership testifying to TECH5’s growing stature in the identity industry.
