Synaptics has announced that Susan Hardman is the latest addition to the company’s Board of Directors. Hardman will sit on the Board’s Compensation Committee, and her appointment is effective as of May 22.
Hardman is a veteran of the semiconductor industry, and has held multiple executive positions with the Intersil Corporation and Exar. She also served as a member of the advisory board for the School of Electrical Engineering at Santa Clara University.
“Ms. Hardman’s extensive knowledge of the semiconductor industry, her engineering background, and her knowledge of the consumer and automotive technology sectors give her the strong skillset, perspectives, and experiences that make her a welcome addition to our Board of Directors,” said Synaptics Board of Directors Chairperson Nelson Chan.
Synaptics has made several changes at the executive level in the past year, having hired both a new CFO and a new CEO within the last twelve months. The company posted strong results in its first quarterly report under new CEO Michael Hurlston, reversing the downward trend that had been observed in several previous reports.
Synaptics had been active on the events circuit prior to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. For example, the company demoed a smart TV with face and voice recognition capabilities at the IBC Conference in September.
