Suprema is hoping to raise its profile in Europe through the formation of Suprema Europe SARL. The organization formerly operated as Suprema France SARL, but is being rebranded to provide better support to customers throughout the region, and not just those located in one country.
To that end, Suprema Europe will deliver products and services directly to its European customers. The company will run its own technical support line and maintain its own stock of Suprema products to provide better service on a European schedule.
With the rebrand, Suprema believes that it will be well positioned to meet the surging demand for contactless security solutions during the COVID-19 pandemic. The company has previously noted the public health concerns associated with shared fingerprint readers, and while it has not abandoned that technology, it has turned more of its attention to contactless alternatives like facial recognition and RFID readers. For example, Suprema unveiled a new Mobile Access solution at the end of April that uses an app to turn a smartphone into a digital credential.
The Suprema Europe news comes shortly after Suprema celebrated its 20th year of operations. The company is also trying to extend its reach in the African market.
