“Suprema says the terminal can perform 3,000 matches per second, reflecting a 300 percent increase over the speed of the original FaceStation.”
Suprema plans to attend next week’s Intersec 2017 trade fair on security, safety, and fire protection, where it will unveil a major new biometric security solution – FaceStation 2.
It’s a sequel to Suprema’s flagship facial recognition terminal, which made its debut back in 2012. At the time, the company touted FaceStation as the world’s fastest facial recognition access control terminal. The technological field has evolved by leaps and bounds since then, but Suprema is once again keen to offer “the world’s fastest and most advanced face recognition technology” in FaceStation 2, according to a statement announcing the new solution.
Suprema says the terminal can perform 3,000 matches per second, reflecting a 300 percent increase over the speed of the original FaceStation. It also features optical sensor technology that scan faces in bright sunlight up to 25,000 lux, allowing for both indoor and outdoor deployments of the system.
The company will show off a prototype of the new terminal from its Intersec 2017 booth, SA-E38. The expo will take place in Dubai from January 22nd to 24th.
