Suprema is showcasing its portfolio of access control solutions at this week’s ISC West show in Las Vegas. ISC West is taking place in person after last year’s virtual show, and Suprema has marked the occasion by taking over a standalone ISC West booth for the first time.
Those that visit the booth will be able to view the company’s BioStar 2 solution, in addition to its X-Station 2 and FaceStation F2 terminals. BioStar is geared towards corporate access control, and exists as a broader security platform that organizations can use to set different levels of security for different parts of their facilities. For example, a conference room can be fitted with a simple RFID card reader, while private offices can be protected with biometric scanners.
The X-Station 2 and the FaceStation F2 are some of the scanning options that are available to Suprema customers. The X-Station 2 is an RFID reader, though it offers support for mobile credentials and QR codes. Those credentials can be issued remotely, and are stored on the user’s own personal mobile device to give it a utility comparable to that of an RFID card. They can just as easily be revoked remotely should an individual lose their access privileges.
The FaceStation F2, meanwhile, authenticates registered users with facial recognition. The terminal leverages infrared technology to minimize the false acceptance rate, and supports remote registration through a feature that allows users to upload a photo from a separate device. It also boasts mask detection capabilities, and can be combined with a thermal camera to further protect workers during the pandemic. In that regard, the FaceStation F2, X-Station 2, and BioStar 2 can all be used to enable contactless access control.
“ISC West 2021 is the first international conference Suprema is participating since the outbreak of COVID-19,” said Suprema America Sales Director Bob Carrino. “Our solutions have much to offer especially in the post-pandemic era and we are always eager to hear customer feedback.”
