“…while BioMini Slim S supports WiFi and is designed for use with web-based servers, it also features on-device biometric encryption…”
Suprema has announced the BioMini Slim S, the latest in its line of BioMini fingerprint scanners.
It’s FAP20- and FBI PIV/FIPS201-compliant and uses a 500dpi sensor. The BioMini Slim S also features HID protocol compatibility, enabling greater plug-and-play biometric scanning as soon as its USB port is plugged in.
Perhaps more importantly, the device will be available in a wireless model supporting WiFi connectivity, and powered by a rechargeable battery. Together with its IP65 dust and water resistance and its capability of scanning in direct sunlight, that should allow for considerable portability and make it a strong solution for outdoor deployments.
Looking to security, while BioMini Slim S supports WiFi and is designed for use with web-based servers, it also features on-device biometric encryption, and it uses Suprema’s LFD liveness detection technology to help fight spoofing attempts.
Commenting in a press release announcing the new device, Bogun Park, head of ID Solutions Business at Suprema, said, “In developing BioMini Slim S, we have clear focus to build best-in-class mobile scanners that outpaces competitors in all aspects.”
Suprema plans to showcase its new device at the Trustech 2016 conference on November 29th.
