Yesterday it was announced that this year, the Korean national award “Order of Industrial Service Merit” will be going to Suprema. The honor is Korea’s highest medal that can be awarded to a growing company and represents excellence in contributing to local industry and economy.
A total of five companies were presented with the Order of Industrial Service Merit, but Suprema was distinguished even further with the “Silver Tower” which it refers to as the highest level of national recognition for growing companies.
Commenting on the award, Suprema CEO James Lee said, “With the recognition, Suprema will be ceaselessly making efforts to stay committed in not only driving the local economic growth but also in leading global biometrics markets by taking this opportunity being recognized as the top in the IT power house, Korea.”
Globally Suprema has been expanding this year through a number of strategic partnerships on the US, and with it’s eyes set on the African biometrics markets. Recently, through its US operating partner EnterTech Systems, it has been involved in a number of collaborations in breaking down barriers of biometric adoption in physical access control.
Earlier this year Suprema was named among the companies positioned to benefit from the emergence of the so called “frontier markets,” namely those in the African region, which has been seeing a number of fingerprint recognition based deployments in the areas of national ID, finance and patient tracking all through 2013.
