“Our new FaceStation F2 provides the mission critical identity management, and health and safety capabilities that organizations need today to get employees back to workplaces.” – Young S. Moon, CEO, Suprema
Three weeks ahead of its inaugural virtual conference, biometric access and workforce management specialist Suprema announced its latest product: the FaceStation F2 Fusion Multimodal Terminal.
As its name suggests, the FaceStation F2 supports multiple authentication modalities – face, fingerprint, card, and mobile credential – but the star of the show here is face biometrics. The F2 combines visual and infrared facial recognition, a distinction that contributes to its accuracy. In a press release announcing the product, Suprema boasts a false accept rate (FAR) of one in 1 billion. Furthermore, the infrared capabilities boost the terminal’s AI-enhanced ability to detect and reject spoof attempts.
In terms of data storage, the FaceStation F2 can register 50,000 users’ face biometrics, and up to 100,000 users’ fingerprints. The terminal offers remote enrollment options, enabling user registration compliant with the social distancing protocols that have become the norm as the COVID-19 pandemic rages on.
Remote enrollment isn’t the only hygienic measure Suprema’s latest FaceStation device supports. The F2 can be paired with Suprema’s Thermal Camera to add a layer of fever detection to its biometrics, and the terminal can authenticate users wearing facemasks. It can even send notifications when a user is not wearing a mask in an environment where they have been deemed mandatory.
Summing it all up, Suprema CEO Young S. Moon said, “Our new FaceStation F2 provides the mission critical identity management, and health and safety capabilities that organizations need today to get employees back to workplaces.”
Contactless biometrics for physical enterprise security are growing in popularity as organizations across the globe seek to renew and revitalize the economy after COVID-19 related shutdowns earlier this year.
The FaceStation F2 Fusion Multimodal Biometric Terminal will be showcased at Suprema Connect 2020, which runs for one month, starting September 15.
