Sumsub Partners With Reap to Power Compliance for Stablecoin Payments Onboarding

Identity verification provider Sumsub has partnered with Reap, a Hong Kong-based fintech building stablecoin-native cards and payments infrastructure, to provide configurable onboarding and compliance checks for business customers and cardholders as Reap expands beyond Asia-Pacific.

Under the partnership, Sumsub will handle user verification for both Reap’s business clients and end cardholders through its API-first platform. Reap can configure verification flows by customer type, geography, and risk profile from a single interface, using Sumsub’s workflow builder and configurable fields to localize compliance checks as it enters new markets.

“Onboarding is often the first real experience a customer has with Reap and it needs to be fast, simple, and compliant no matter where they are located,” said Darryl Wan, Head of Legal, Risk and Compliance at Reap. “With the right infrastructure in place, we can scale into new markets and give businesses seamless access to stablecoin-powered cards, payments and financial tools.”

Sumsub’s platform provides document verification across more than 14,000 identity document types from over 220 countries and territories, along with biometric liveness detection for real-time identity confirmation. A key component of the integration is Sumsub’s Reusable KYC capability, which allows users who have previously verified through Sumsub to skip redundant document uploads and checks when onboarding with Reap. Sumsub says one in three applicants on its platform have already completed a prior verification.

“Our platform is designed to address fragmented regulatory environments across jurisdictions while enabling seamless user experiences through reusable digital identity,” said Penny Chai, Vice President for APAC at Sumsub. “By verifying users once and extending that trust across the ecosystem, we help fast-growing fintechs like Reap reduce unnecessary onboarding friction without compromising on compliance.”

Reap, which processed billions in stablecoin-funded transaction flows in 2025, employs 300 people worldwide and offers stablecoin-enabled corporate credit cards, cross-border payments, and embedded finance solutions. As it enters additional markets, the company faces increasing anti-money laundering and counter-financing of terrorism requirements across different regulatory regimes.
