Sumsub Integrates Fingerprint’s Device Intelligence to Strengthen Fraud Detection

Sumsub has integrated Fingerprint’s Device Intelligence technology into its Fraud Prevention platform, aiming to strengthen real-time fraud detection through advanced device and network analysis. The update targets high-risk sectors such as iGaming, cryptocurrency, fintech, and banking, where fraud attempts increasingly occur after initial onboarding.

Device Intelligence and Real-Time Risk Signals

Fingerprint’s technology analyzes over 100 browser and network-level signals to assign each user session a unique, persistent identifier – known as a VisitorID – without collecting personally identifiable information. This allows Sumsub’s system to detect suspicious behavior in real time, including the use of VPNs, incognito browsers, and remote access tools. Sumsub reports that 76 percent of fraud attempts happen during post-onboarding activity like logins, transactions, and account changes.

“We are combining our own technology with Fingerprint, a leader in device intelligence,” said Andrew Novoselsky, Chief Product Officer at Sumsub. “Together, our solutions provide greater accuracy and a more complete fraud prevention system, with no coding required on the clients’ side.”

The integration follows Fingerprint’s 175 percent revenue growth over the past two years, a surge driven by rising enterprise demand for fraud mitigation tools. Sumsub’s platform update also introduces enhancements to its Case Management solution, including a new AI assistant that helps streamline fraud investigations and accelerate team workflows.

Privacy, Compliance, and Market Expansion

According to Sumsub, the Device Intelligence feature collects only non-sensitive technical metadata such as browser type, operating system version, and screen resolution. No cookies, fingerprint images, or names are captured. The solution is compliant with GDPR and SOC 2 standards, and Sumsub says technical parameters used to generate fingerprints are purged after 180 days.

The new features build on Sumsub’s recent commercial momentum, including a May 2025 partnership with TELUS Digital to support remote-employee onboarding through end-to-end identity verification. Similar integrations are expected as more financial institutions shift toward layered defenses combining behavioral, biometric, and device-based authentication. Industry analysts note that device-level intelligence is increasingly used alongside traditional KYC tools, especially as fraudsters adapt to static ID checks.

“By combining our industry-leading accuracy and reliability with Sumsub’s powerful identity verification and fraud prevention solutions, we’re helping businesses unlock deeper insights into user behavior with real-time signals to reduce fraud and deliver more seamless onboarding experiences,” said Shaun Per, Vice President of Global Sales at Fingerprint.
