“Staples constantly looks for new ways to help businesses succeed, including making it easy for them to travel. This unique relationship with IdentoGO will let us offer our customers additional products and services that are impactful to their lives.” – Peter Scala, Chief Merchandising Officer, Staples, Inc.
It’s about to get a lot easier to sign up for TSA PreCheck, the biometric pre-registration program for travelers enabling expedited processing at airports across the US. IDEMIA, the Transportation Security Administration’s private sector partner in the program, has announced that the office supplies retailer Staples will offer TSA PreCheck enrollment at its locations nationwide through the former’s IdentoGO service.
The move will help to establish Staples as a one-stop shop for travel documents, with the chain also offering passport photos and other certified ID services. Those who are willing to pay the $85 need to enroll in TSA PreCheck – just $17 per year of the five years entailed – will only need to provide some biographic and biometric data at their local Staples store to be eligible for faster, hassle-free security screening at the airport.
In a statement announcing the partnership, the firms suggested that it’s a natural fit. As Staples Chief Merchandising Officer Peter Scala explained, “Staples constantly looks for new ways to help businesses succeed, including making it easy for them to travel,” so teaming up with IDEMIA and its IdentoGO enrollment business allows Staples to “offer our customers additional products and services that are impactful to their lives.”
The companies say that Staples stores in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, and Seattle will be the first to feature IdentoGO enrolment centers, with more to follow.
