The South Korean voice recognition startup Posicube has announced that it is hoping to launch an English-language version of its platform in 2021. The company was founded in 2017, and is hoping that the English version will allow it to reach Western markets and fuel a larger global expansion effort.
Posicube currently offers two primary services. The first is Robi Reception, which is designed to automate certain call center interactions. Robi Store, on the other hand, is geared toward commercial establishments like restaurants and salons, and can be used to help customers make reservations and book appointments.
Each of Posicube’s services is developed for a specific practical application. The goal is to deliver bespoke solutions that are more accurate than generalized voice platforms that may struggle with the unique technical terms and proper nouns that come up in different industries.
“We focus our business on developing high-quality voice AI services to be used for specific purposes,” explained Posicube founder and CEO Oh Sung-jo. “When the number of categories increases, customers will be able to enjoy a wide range of voice AI services in their daily lives.”
Oh is a former Samsung Electronics employee. He is planning to recruit 30 new AI specialists in 2020 to support the company’s future expansion.
Posicube will be hoping to capture a portion of what is expected to be a lucrative voice recognition market. Meticulous Research predicts that the market will hit $26.8 billion by 2025, while Grand View believes that it will reach nearly $32 billion in the same time frame.
