“Mike’s entrepreneurial drive and passion for this industry will be yet another tremendous competitive advantage for Socure in helping us stop the very sophisticated fraud attacks that our customers and partners experience every day.” – Johnny Ayers, Founder & CEO, Socure
A new identity security expert has joined Socure‘s ranks to help promote the company’s commercial offerings. Mike Cook has been named Socure’s Vice President of Commercialization.
Cook comes to the company after having served as Early Warning’s VP of Data Strategy, Identity and Authentication from August of 2018 to March of 2020, before moving on to Strategic Advisor roles for SentiLink and Singular Key. He was also the founder and CEO of XOR Data Exchange, Inc., from 2014 to 2018.
But in a statement announcing his latest appointment, Socure highlighted Cook’s experience with ID Analytics in particular, noting that after co-founding the risk analytics firm in 2002, he helped to develop it into a profitable company that was ultimately acquired by LifeLock in 2012. Socure also noted Cook’s senior management roles with Consumer Credit Associates, Experian, Early Warning Services, and American express; and his three awarded patents and four patents pending.
“Mike’s entrepreneurial drive and passion for this industry will be yet another tremendous competitive advantage for Socure in helping us stop the very sophisticated fraud attacks that our customers and partners experience every day,” asserted Socure founder and CEO Johnny Ayers.
Cook joins the company at an exciting time for its business. Interest in the kind of selfie-based biometric onboarding technology that Socure provides has been on the rise for years, and spiked in the aftermath of the pandemic and the attendant shift into digital channels across a number of sectors. In its latest quarterly update, Socure reported a 126 percent year-over-year uptick in revenues, among other impressive metrics. The company has also kept pace in launching new authentication tools this summer aimed at more specific use cases.
For his part, Cook acknowledged Socure’s “momentum and success,” adding that his aim as its newest VP is “to support and strengthen existing solutions, drive Socure product adoption more broadly, and help our sales team optimize communication with prospects and customers.” Cook also expressed his admiration for “the level of professionalism and expertise” on the Socure team, concluding, “I’m excited to join Socure at this amazing point in its growth trajectory.”
