“In a statement announcing the new integrations, FPC said it is ‘very proud to provide world class biometrics for two new and cool smartphones…'”
Two high-profile new smartphones are using fingerprint sensor technology from Fingerprint Cards, the company has announced. And they’re both from repeat customers.
One of the devices is the latest addition to Huawei’s Honor line of smartphones. The Honor 10 GT is the latest version of its Honor 1o, delivering additional RAM and a supercharged GPU, along with an FPC1267 fingerprint sensor.
The other new integration arrives via the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro, an upgraded version of the Redmi 6 smartphone. Like the Redmi 5 Plus smartphone launched in December, this new device features an FPC1028 fingerprint sensor.
In a statement announcing the new integrations, FPC said it is “very proud to provide world class biometrics for two new and cool smartphones,” adding that its sensor technology offers “high quality and excellent biometric performance” along with innovative features.
News of the integrations comes just a couple of weeks after FPC’s announcement of its most affordable fingerprint sensor yet, the FPC1511, which the company expects to deliver to market later in the year or in early 2019.
