“This latest batch of integrations comes soon after multiple other smartphone integration announcements from Fingerprint Cards, whose biometric technology has also been incorporated into recent devices from OPPO, Honor, Sharp, and others.”
Fingerprint Cards technology is being used in three new smartphone models, the company has announced.
In announcing the biometrics integrations, Fingerprints did not disclose the names of its smartphone maker clients, but indicated that the companies are based in Japan. The company said that the devices had each incorporated a different fingerprint sensor model: The FPC1145, FPC1035, and FPC1291.
This latest batch of integrations comes soon after multiple other smartphone integration announcements from Fingerprint Cards, whose biometric technology has also been incorporated into recent devices from OPPO, Honor, Sharp, and others. Notably, none of these newest integrations involve the FPC1511, Fingerprint Cards’ low-cost fingerprint sensor model aimed at helping the company to compete in a market that has seen dramatic drops in ASPs.
In any case, these new integrations further emphasize the importance of the mobile biometrics market to Fingerprint Cards, with the company’s CEO having put this arena in the spotlight in the company’s latest fiscal update, even as Fingerprints looks to expand into new areas such as automotive biometrics and fingerprint-scanning payment cards.
