Samsung has added Smart Eye Technology to its new AppStack Marketplace. The Marketplace provides small businesses with a curated list of apps they can use to enhance their operations, while Smart Eye is the developer of a document sharing service that ensures that only those with the proper authorization are able to view restricted documents.
The partnership will make Smart Eye more readily available to Samsung’s AppStack customers. The app itself is compatible with both desktop and mobile devices. With it, an administrator can create a pool of registered users, and set permissions to make sure that only certain people have access to select materials. From there, the platform uses biometrics to verify the identities of document recipients, and to authenticate e-signatures on documents that need to be signed.
Anyone who cannot be verified will not be able to open or view a document once it has been sent through the platform. Smart Eye also has a feature to thwart anyone trying to read a document over someone’s shoulder, and will automatically block the document with a popup if it detects an unauthorized face in front of the screen.
The administrator, meanwhile, can set viewing time limits, block downloading and sharing privileges, and revoke access if so desired. Any documents uploaded to the Smart Eye platform are encrypted, while the biometric requirement keeps those documents private even when an employee’s email account gets compromised.
“No one should be able to see your confidential information unless you want them to,” said Smart Eye Founder Dexter Caffey. “Smart Eye says no, this file is none of your business, so we’re blocking you out.”
“Organizations in hybrid work environments are under increased pressure to ensure their data remains secure no matter where it is going,” added Samsung America Mobile B2B VP John Curtis. “Smart Eye provides a modern solution for SMBs to share wiring instructions, project bids and other sensitive documents securely within this environment.”
Companies that go through the AppStack Marketplace will be able to get Smart Eye at a discounted rate. The mobile version of the app is available for iOS and Android devices.
