SITA to Expand Staff in Ireland to Support Next-Gen Airport Solutions Development

Multinational information technology provider for the aviation industry SITA has announced that it will be making a significant expansion to its Agile DevOps teams in Letterkenny, Ireland, by adding an additional 55 employees in the region to help with the development of its next-generation SITA AT AIRPORTS portfolio.

The air transport industry has been among the hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in airports, airlines, and governments around the world searching for ways to further streamline passenger processing and make the experience of air travel a simpler, faster, and safer one.

SITA is at the forefront of this growth in demand for air travel solutions, and over the past several months has worked to accelerate its efforts to innovate the development of new systems to change the way processes are handled across areas such as passenger processing, baggage management, and airport and border operations, with its solutions currently being used by more than 1,000 airports across more than 60 government jurisdictions throughout the world.

Among the new roles being added with the increase in personnel are software engineers, test engineers, UX designers, scrum masters, and product owners.

SITA’s operations in Letterkenny date back to 2003, with its team there growing from 20 to more than 100 people today. A new facility built in 2015 further helped accommodate its growing team.
