“The technology is expected to ultimately be used by the full 38,500-member roster of the Singapore Police Force, the company indicated.”
BIO-key has announced that it has another new high-profile client: The Singapore Police Force will use its biometric authentication technology to control access to secure information.
The police agency is already using Active Directory as its credential management system, allowing for the easy integration of BIO-key’s compatible ID Director for Windows software. As for hardware, the Singapore Police Force will use BIO-key’s EcoID fingerprint readers to enroll their biometric information into the system.
The technology is expected to ultimately be used by the full 38,500-member roster of the Singapore Police Force, the company indicated.
In a statement announcing the deployment, BIO-key CEO Mike DePasquale said it is “an honor to have BIO-key hardware and software recognized by a prominent international law enforcement agency as they understand the value of strong security.” DePasquale added that these kinds of projects with “highly visible customers around the globe demonstrate the strength of the BIO-key brand and the growing adoption” of its technology.
News of the deal comes on the heels of BIO-key’s announcement at the end of last month that a major international aerospace defense contractor had signed on for BIO-key’s biometric security solutions, marking its second contract win in that sector.
