Signicat has appointed Sofia Busck as Country Manager for Sweden, a role that will see her lead the company’s go-to-market strategy in Stockholm and report to Joakim Harging, Chief Enterprise for the Nordics and UK. The appointment is intended to strengthen Signicat’s Swedish presence as the company expands its leadership footprint across Europe.
Busck brings more than a decade of experience in commercial strategy and operations. She most recently served as Chief Revenue Officer at Worldfavor, a sustainability data platform, and previously held senior roles at Klarna and began her career at EY. In her statement, she said she looks forward to strengthening Signicat’s local offering, supporting regulated industries, and helping customers expand domestically and internationally amid rising regulatory and security demands.
Harging welcomed the appointment, emphasizing that Busck will help customers navigate complex regulation and cross-border growth while positioning Signicat as a trusted partner for digital identity, fraud prevention, and e-signature services in Sweden.
The move reflects a wider leadership build-out by Signicat, which earlier appointed a country manager for DACH in 2024. It comes on the heels of acquisitions that have deepened its product and geographic reach, including SmartWorks in Iceland, UK-based Sphonic, and Norwegian identity provider Idfy. Signicat has also been recognized in the FT1000 ranking of Europe’s fastest-growing companies for multiple years, underscoring its momentum in the trust services sector.
Signicat’s offerings are well established in Sweden, where it provides BankID integration and qualified e-signature solutions aligned with eIDAS standards. The company has recently expanded its technology base with additions such as 3D liveness and face matching in its MobileID system, designed to resist AI-driven fraud. These developments complement new initiatives like ReuseID for cross-border identity reuse under eIDAS 2.0 and the acquisition of Inverid to bolster mobile NFC identity verification. Partnerships such as Signicat’s collaboration with Strise further reinforce its positioning in KYC and AML orchestration.
In Sweden’s mature digital ID market, where BankID is ubiquitous, the appointment of a dedicated country lead signals a stronger enterprise focus on banking, fintech, mobility, and public sector clients. It also positions Signicat to align local journeys with emerging EU frameworks such as the European Digital Identity Wallet.
