Signicat and TrustTech Partner on Reusable Identity via Private Wallets

Signicat and TrustTech have announced a partnership to help European businesses adopt reusable identity through private digital wallets, letting a verified identity be established once and reused across onboarding, authentication, and electronic signing rather than checked over and over.

The partnership pairs Signicat’s digital identity platform with TrustTech’s trust infrastructure, which handles identity verification, reusable compliance checks, and trusted signatures. The companies say the combination connects every step from a first identity verification to a final signature under the eIDAS 2.0 standards, replacing fragmented checks, password-based logins, and repeated signing with a single wallet-driven flow that can carry verified information across systems, organizations, and borders.

The two frame private wallets as a way for regulated organizations to act now rather than wait for government-issued public wallets to mature. Companies are increasingly deploying compliant private wallets for their own employees and customers, they say, to speed up onboarding, move to passwordless security, and cut repeated checks across internal systems, partner networks, and supply chains. The partnership will initially focus on financial services, government, healthcare, and pharmaceutical customers.

“Regulated organisations are dealing with identity across more touchpoints than ever, from customer onboarding to employee access, partner checks and digital signing,” said Thijs Vink, chief of enterprise for central and southern Europe at Signicat. “Private wallets give them a practical way to bring those journeys together today, rather than waiting for the wider public wallet ecosystem to mature.”

“Customers, employees and partners should not have to prove who they are again and again, and institutions cannot afford to rebuild trust from scratch every time,” said Rens Pennings, chief commercial officer at TrustTech.

The partnership extends Signicat’s push toward wallet-based identity, after it launched an eID and Wallet Hub for the eIDAS 2.0 transition and later added Austria’s national digital identity to that hub.
