Shufti Pro will be looking to pick up more clients in the gaming space. The company has been cleared to provide identity verification services for gaming operations in the states of West Virginia and Louisiana.
The two new certifications were handed out by the West Virginia Lottery Board and the Louisiana Gaming Control Board, both of which evaluated Shufti Pro’s identity verification tech and determined that it is compliant with their respective technology standards and gaming laws. West Virginia rewarded Shufti Pro with an i-Gaming and Sports Wagering Permanent Licence, while Louisiana presented its own Sports Wagering Service Provider License.
With the certifications, Shufti Pro is now allowed to partner with gaming providers in 13 states, with the two new states getting added to the 11 in which the company has already been approved. Shufti Pro’s solution fulfills the latest Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations, using face and document recognition to compare a selfie to a physical ID to enable reliable mobile onboarding.
As it relates to gaming in particular, Shufti Pro noted that its solution can automate the age verification process, which ensures that those who are not old enough to play cannot gamble online. On that front, kids in the US are especially tech savvy, to the point that 70 percent of those under 18 are already playing some kind of online game. The solution can also cut down on identity theft and money laundering on gaming platforms.
“Shufti Pro is known for its globally configurable IDV solutions,” said Shufti Pro CEO Victor Fredung. “These licences will help us improve our credibility and enhance our customer value.”
Shufti Pro recently closed a Series A funding round with a haul of $20 million. The company also went home with two prizes at the International Business Magazine Awards in April.
