“As with SensibleVision’s previous offerings, such as its 3DVerify mobile facial recognition system, 3DSafe is designed to operate in a range of lighting conditions, from sunlight to complete darkness”
SensibleVision has announced the latest iteration of its facial recognition technology. Called 3DSafe, it’s “a rapid-screening approach that provides improved face authentication-based security leveraging patented AI-driven software,” according to a statement from the company.
It’s a software solution designed to operate through connected cameras, applying SensibleVision’s facial recognition technology to the video feeds produced. As with SensibleVision’s previous offerings, such as its 3DVerify mobile facial recognition system, 3DSafe is designed to operate in a range of lighting conditions, from sunlight to complete darkness; and SensibleVision says it is “virtually spoof-proof” with respect to masks and other such threats.
The company also recently touted its technology’s ‘immunity’ to the kinds of demographic biases that have been observed in other facial recognition systems. If 3DSafe maintains such effectiveness, it could prove attractive to government and enterprise organizations sensitive to concerns about the discriminating effects of such biases.
SensibleVision CEO George Brostoff, for his part, is happy to boast about the technology in much broader terms, asserting that “3DSafe overcomes all of the challenges that previous solutions have not been able to.”
