Secured Signing Adds Recurring Identity Checks to Remote Notarization Sessions

Secured Signing has added an ID Trust Console to its remote online notarization and live video signing platform, giving session hosts a continuous view of identity-verification and deepfake-detection signals while a transaction is underway.

The console displays a comparison between the person appearing on camera and the identity record created during pre-meeting verification. It also shows the pass or fail result from Realify, the platform’s deepfake-detection feature, in the same panel used to manage the signing session.

Identity checks can run repeatedly during a meeting instead of ending when the participant enters the video room. A host can manually trigger another test, receive an alert when a check fails and remove a signer from the session when the identity signal changes.

The workflow is designed for transactions in which a verified person must remain present throughout a remote signing. That includes notarizations, legal documents and other agreements where a substitute participant or manipulated video feed could undermine the validity of the completed transaction.

Secured Signing introduced Realify through a partnership with Reality Defender in 2025. The product analyzes the live video feed for evidence of face swaps and other synthetic-media techniques, complementing the document and face checks completed before a session begins.

The new console brings those checks into a single operational view and records the results in the session’s audit trail. The audit record gives the parties and reviewing organizations a timestamped account of the identity controls applied during the signing process.

Remote notarization frameworks are also beginning to address biometric verification more directly. Michigan updated its remote-notarization standards this year to permit biometric identity verification as an alternative to knowledge-based authentication in qualifying workflows.

The ID Trust Console is available now to Secured Signing customers using remote online notarization or live video signing when the participant has completed pre-meeting identity verification or a Realify check. Secured Signing is including the feature without an additional platform fee or separate setup process.

The console does not replace the initial identity-proofing step. It carries the resulting identity record into the live meeting and checks that record against the participant at intervals, addressing the period between admission to the session and completion of the final signature.
