Secured Signing Partners with Reality Defender to Launch ‘Realify’ Deepfake Detection for RON

Digital signature provider Secured Signing has partnered with deepfake detection leader Reality Defender to integrate a new “Realify” feature into its platform, bringing real-time, multi-modal deepfake detection to Remote Online Notarization (RON) and video signing sessions.

The “Realify” feature is designed to combat sophisticated AI-generated media (deepfakes) being used to impersonate individuals during high-stakes legal and financial transactions conducted remotely.

The feature allows the host of a RON or video signing meeting – such as a notary – to initiate an instant “Realify” check. The system, powered by Reality Defender, uses multi-modal technology to analyze the participant’s live video and audio feeds. Within seconds, it generates a real-time risk score and a detailed report, classifying the participant as “authentic, suspicious, or fake,” giving the host immediate information to proceed or terminate the session.

The threat of AI-generated impersonation in remote identity verification has escalated rapidly. In recent months, financial institutions have reported sophisticated deepfake attacks targeting customer verification processes, and multiple vendors have added deepfake detection to their liveness solutions. The RON industry, which conducts legally binding notarizations via video conference, faces particular exposure to these attacks.

Traditional liveness detection was designed to identify presentation attacks such as photographs or masks. Generative AI enables attackers to create real-time, responsive video and audio that can bypass these defenses. Reality Defender’s technology analyzes multiple characteristics of video and audio streams simultaneously to detect AI-generated content.
