Authentication solutions provider SecureAuth Corporation has partnered up with behavioral biometrics developer BehavioSec to integrate the latter’s technology into its SecureAuth IdP Authentication API.
BehavioSec’s behavior analytics are designed to assess mouse movement, keystrokes, and touchscreen interaction, mapping patterns to identify users based on behavioral biometrics. These capabilities will be introduced to SecureAuth IdP, an API platform allowing client companies to develop custom authentication systems for their own IT infrastructure. The overall goal is to add a continuous, passive authentication capability to SecureAuth’s platform.
In a statement announcing the integration, SecureAuth CTO Keith Graham called BehavioSec’s system “a truly sophisticated technology,” adding that the integration into SecureAuth IdP offers a uniquely effective means of protecting client organizations. Meanwhile, BehavioSec CEO Dr. Neil Costigan explained that “SecureAuth’s status as a major innovator in the adaptive authentication space, along with its diverse customer base, made the company a natural partner for us.”
It’s a timely partnership as excitement about behavioral analytics and biometrics continues to pick up speed. A recent market report on emerging biometric modalities highlighted the growth opportunities ahead for behavioral analytics, and systems like NuData’s NuDetect platform have been winning praise for their ability to detect online threats and potential fraud. It’s a good time for SecureAuth to integrate such capabilities into its own flagship platform, and that should help bring BehavioSec’s technology to market in turn.
