“We have never seen the level of demand that we are seeing for this product. SecuGen is truly excited to introduce the U20-ASF-BT. This breakthrough Bluetooth fingerprint module represents the culmination of many years of effort, technological innovation and commitment to delivering the world’s best optical fingerprint readers and sensors.” Won Lee, CEO, SecuGen
With the dawn of a new year approaching, industry eyes are turning to Las Vegas in anticipation of the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2019). And as biometric technology continues to proliferate the consumer device space, so too are biometrics vendors increasing their presence of the largest tech trade show in the world.
SecuGen is ahead of the curve in this respect, having long exhibited its latest fingerprint biometrics solutions at CES. This year will be no different: the optical fingerprint device and technology vendor will be showcasing its new FBI certified Bluetooth fingerprint sensor module, the U20-ASF-BT.
The U20-ASF-BT is an OEM fingerprint module, based on SecuGen’s FBI certified U20-A fingerprint sensor. It’s a standalone module that boasts a compact form-factor, low cost, and high level of customization. Thanks to SecuGen’s development kit, which includes the company’s fingerprint algorithm SDK, the range of applications for the latest module are “potentially limitless,” according to the company. But the key differentiation for the U20-ASF-BT is its Bluetooth functionality.
“Bluetooth connectivity opens the opportunity to use SecuGen world class technology with a variety of Bluetooth enabled products and platforms,” said Dan Riley, Vice President of Engineering, Secugen.
The Bluetooth fingerprint module — which boasts FIPS 201 PIV and Mobile ID FAP 20 certification — was created to meet the demands of OEM partners, according to SecuGen CEO Won Lee.
“We have never seen the level of demand that we are seeing for this product,” said Lee. “SecuGen is truly excited to introduce the U20-ASF-BT. This breakthrough Bluetooth fingerprint module represents the culmination of many years of effort, technological innovation and commitment to delivering the world’s best optical fingerprint readers and sensors.”
Secugen will be occupying booth 35232 in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center during CES which kicks off January 8, 2019. Along with the U20-ASF-BT, the company will be showcasing its U10 fingerprint sensor, its U10-SF ultra-compact programmable fingerprint sensor, and its Hamster Pro 10 fingerprint reader.
