SecuGen to Showcase Ultra-Thin Sensor at CES 2019

A year after its debut, SecuGen‘s U10 fingerprint sensor will return to the Consumer Electronics Show.

The optical sensor was first announced ahead of this year’s CES, alongside the Hamster Pro 10, an FBI-certified, FAP 10 fingerprint reader. SecuGen says the U10 is one of the smallest fingerprint sensors on the market, at less than 13mm thin, allowing it to be easily integrated into a wide range of hardware devices, from handhelds to ATMs. The device also features a scratch-resistant optical glass platen, and Android, Linux, and Windows compatibility.

Now, the device is poised to make its return to CES, with SecuGen having announced that it will be showcased at the 2019 edition of the trade show, emphasizing that it remains one of the most compact and sophisticated solutions on the market.

In a statement announcing the plans, SecuGen Sales and Marketing VP Jeff Brown asserted that the U10 is still “the thinnest FBI certified optical fingerprint sensor module in the world today,” adding later that SecuGen is “working with ATM, POS and handheld vendors” on integrations of the sensor.

SecuGen will be showing it off from booth #35232 in the Las Vegas Convention Center’s South Hall throughout the event, which runs from January 8th to 11th.
