SecuGen technology is now being used in a biometric safe.
Called the SafeDefend Personnel Protection System, it’s the product of collaboration between SecuGen and SafeDefend LLC. Access to the safe is controlled via a SecuGen fingerprint sensor – the SecuGen U20-SFR – and the system is designed to send a text alert to authorized administrators in the event of a breach. Such an instance will also trigger an immediate alert to local law enforcement pointing to the location of the incident, and the companies say that it police will even be “notified of the identity of the individual person who initiated the alert,” according to a statement announcing the system.
Commenting on the collaboration, SafeDefend President Jeff Green explained, “We selected the SecuGen U20-SFR stand-alone sensor because of the quality of SecuGen’s products,” adding, “The capability of the U20-SFR is amazing, and the price is very affordable.”
The companies are planning to showcase their solution at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, where SecuGen will also show off other products in its line of optical fingerprint readers such as its Hamster Pro 20. CES 2018 will take place in Las Vegas from January 9th to 12th, with SecuGen and SafeDefend slated to showcase their SafeDefend Personnel Protection System at booth #21767.
