“Precise Biometrics’ involvement comes by way of its acquisition of NexID Biometrics, which had developed liveness detection technology for the device.”
SecuGen and Precise Biometrics will be on hand at the Connect:ID conference to demonstrate the Hamster Pro 20 fingerprint scanner and its embedded liveness detection technology, the companies have announced.
It’s part of SecuGen’s Hamster Pro line, with the company also having recently announced the Hamster Pro 45, a two-finger and rolled fingerprint reader that the company will also show off at Connect:ID. Having started shipping last May, the Hamster Pro 20 evidently remains an important part of the Hamster Pro line.
Precise Biometrics’ involvement comes by way of its acquisition of NexID Biometrics, which had developed liveness detection technology for the device. A mobile-focused fingerprint algorithm software specialist, Precise Biometrics has sought to enhance its technology lineup with such anti-spoofing technology, and finalized the NexID acquisition in February of this year. In a statement announcing its attendance at Connect:ID with SecuGen, the company referred to the former NexID as “Precise Biometrics’ US operations”.
The companies will demonstrate the technology from the CITeR booth, no. 417, throughout the Connect:ID expo, which runs from May 1st to May 3rd in Washington, DC.
