“It’s an FBI PIV FAP 10 certified device featuring SecuGen’s new U10 fingerprint sensor, which, at 13mm thick, is SecuGen’s smallest sensor to date.”
The Connect:ID exhibition is right around the corner, and SecuGen is going to take the opportunity to showcase its new Hamster Pro 10 fingerprint reader at the event, the company has announced.
The device was first announced at the start of the year, and hit the market earlier this month. It’s an FBI PIV FAP 10 certified device featuring SecuGen’s new U10 fingerprint sensor, which, at 13mm thick, is SecuGen’s smallest sensor to date. That has allowed SecuGen to make the Hamster Pro 10 reader extremely compact, with the company emphasizing its suitability for integration into laptops and handheld devices.
What’s more, the device is compatible Windows Hello, the biometric authentication system built into the Windows 10 operating system; and SecuGen has developed SDKs for not only Windows but also Android and Linux to help developers integrate the reader into their devices.
In a statement announcing the company’s planned showcase for Connect:ID, SecuGen Engineering VP Dan Riley asserted that with the U10, his team has “managed to design an optical sensor that may be the smallest in the industry,” adding that it “was accomplished without sacrificing quality which was no small feat.”
The company is showcasing its solutions from booth #419 at Connect:ID, which runs from May 1st to 2nd in Washington.
