SecuGen to Release Ultra-Compact Biometric Fingerprint Module During Connect:ID 2019

This year’s Connect:ID trade show is right around the corner, and SecuGen is taking the opportunity to release its new U10-SF fingerprint sensor module.

First announced ahead of this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, the U10-SF is the world’s smallest programmable fingerprint module, SecuGen says. It’s based on the company’s ultra-compact U10 optical fingerprint sensor, and boasts of FBI FAP 10 and FIPS 201 certification. It also features a 1GHz processor and a fully programmable Linux operating system.

In a statement announcing the product’s release at Connect:ID, SecuGen Sales and Marketing VP Jeff Brown reaffirmed that the U10-SF is “the culmination of a multi-year development process,” explaining that it entailed dual efforts to reduce its sensor size and to merge its sensor module with a single board processor supporting its Linux development environment.

SecuGen Engineering VP Dan Riley added that the solution “combines very challenging design goals: small size, a fully programmable device, and an affordable price.”

SecuGen says it will showcase the solution from booth #611 at Connect:ID 2019, which is slated to run from April 30th to May 1st at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC.
