Samsung’s Galaxy A line of smartphones is officially on its way to Canada. Samsung Canada has announced that the Galaxy A20, Galaxy A50, and Galaxy A70 will all be available nationwide as of June 7th, at an average retail price of $349.99, $449.99, and $629.99, respectively.
“We are committed to providing Canadians with meaningful innovations for a better mobile experience at all price points,” said Samsung Canada Mobile Business VP Jennifer Safruk.
The Galaxy A series was designed to provide consumers with powerful yet affordable midrange smartphone options. All three phones feature a fingerprint scanner and a long-lasting battery, although there are slight variations between the three models. The A20 offers a dual camera and a super AMOLED Infinity-V screen display, while the upper tier models offer a triple rear camera and the AMOLED Infinity-U (the one on the A70 is slightly larger), and support in-display fingerprint scanning.
It’s also worth noting that Samsung users in other parts of the world have had issues with the Galaxy A line’s fingerprint scanners. Samsung had to release software updates to improve fingerprint performance on the Galaxy A50 and the Galaxy A70 only a few weeks after the phones went on sale in India. Meanwhile, a spoofing report seems to have necessitated a similar update for the more expensive Galaxy S10.
