SailPoint has introduced Agentic Fabric, a product for discovering, governing, and protecting AI agents, machine identities, and applications within its identity security platform. The company announced the offering on May 11 from Austin, Texas, positioning it against governance gaps that arise as autonomous AI agents begin acting inside enterprise systems.
Agentic Fabric is organized around three functions. Discovery builds an inventory of AI agents, machine identities, and applications across cloud environments, application agents, and endpoints. Governance maps each agent to a human owner and applies lifecycle controls and access policies. Protection enforces real-time authorization with threat detection and automated response to maintain least-privilege access. The product maps relationships between AI agents, their human owners, data, and systems using an identity graph, so an agent’s access can be traced back to an accountable person.
“AI agents are transforming how work gets done, but they’re also introducing a new class of identity risk that most organizations aren’t prepared for,” said Matt Mills, President of SailPoint. Chandra Gnanasambandam, Executive Vice President of Product and Chief Technology Officer, said: “With Agentic Fabric, SailPoint is moving aggressively to secure one of the biggest emerging risks in enterprise AI.”
SailPoint plans general availability in summer 2026, with two packages: an Agentic Business tier providing foundational governance with least-privilege access, and an Agentic Business Plus tier adding zero-standing-privilege and just-in-time access. A discovery tool is available now as a free trial to new and existing customers, including users of IdentityIQ and Identity Security Cloud, and SailPoint says it provides immediate visibility into shadow AI and unmanaged applications across existing environments. The company frames Agentic Fabric as an extension of its Identity Security Cloud, so that agent and machine identities are governed through the same platform used for human identities rather than a separate system.
The product extends SailPoint’s existing work on non-human identity. The company has already positioned its Navigator Digital Identity Flex packaging around machine and agent identities, responding to the proliferation of service accounts, bots, and AI agents that now outnumber human users in many enterprises. SailPoint has also reported strong demand for identity security in recent results.
Agentic Fabric applies the same governance model SailPoint uses for human identities, ownership, least privilege, lifecycle, and audit, to autonomous agents and machine identities, so that an agent touching sensitive data or systems can be traced to a responsible owner and constrained by policy.
