RightPatient Named Finalist in Patient ID Challenge

RightPatient has been selected as a finalist for the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives’ (CHIME) National Patient Identification Challenge.

It’s a contest aimed at finding innovative and effective patient identification solutions, with 113 companies from around the world having entered submissions for review by CHIME’s panel of judges. This past Wednesday, the judges selected eight finalists from the 23 contestants in the semi-finals, and RightPatient was one of them.

It’s a validation of RightPatient’s eponymous system, which uses biometrics to quickly identify patients. RightPatient offers multiple modalities for biometric identification including iris, fingerprint, finger vein, palm vein and facial recognition; and it’s based on a cloud-based, SaaS model. RightPatient says its platform is already being used by healthcare systems representing 250 hospitals, with deployments at institutions like the Terrebonne General Medical Center in Louisiana and Archbold Memorial Hospital in Georgia.

A win in CHIME’s National Patient Identification Challenge could help to further boost its profile, and even being designated a finalist offers considerable validation to the platform.
