RealNetworks is making a splash at this year’s ISC West security conference with its official announcement of SAFR for Security, an upgraded version of its SAFR facial recognition platform for surveillance security.
In announcing SAFR for Security, RealNetworks suggested that its key upgrade it its integration “with leading Video Management Systems”, or VMS’s. On that note, at least one of its new partners is Milestone Systems, whose XProtect VMS is taking advantage of SAFR for Security’s facial recognition, live video overlays, and notifications.
SAFR for Security has also been integrated into the Genetec Security Center. The aim is to free up security professionals’ time and attention by automating the scanning of security feeds through Genetec’s operations security platform, using facial recognition to scan for security threats and automatically alert administrators as necessary.
It all points to rising profile for RealNetworks, with positive feedback from clients providing an additional boost. In a statement, an executive with the Shelby American car museum in Las Vegas attested to SAFR for Security’s utility not just in securing facilities but also opening the door to further data-driven insights: “SAFR for Security makes it simple to maintain higher security in public and restricted areas in our facility and helps us understand who is moving through our museum by age, gender, and time of day – allowing us to better tailor our museum experience,” explained Shelby American’s Director of Technology, Fleet & Facilities, Rachard Sparkman.
RealNetworks is showcasing its upgraded solution from booth 27099 at ISC West, which runs from April 10th to 12th at the Sands Expo Hall in Las Vegas.
